Full Care Package
The Full Care Package £6,000 (£6,500 for twin pregnancies)
Complete pregnancy care from the booking visit at 7-12 weeks including labour and birth care, and your six-week postnatal examination.
Important things to know about the full care package:
- The Birth Team fee is fixed, whatever kind of birth and however many antenatal appointments you have, and is separate from any other charges.
- The hospital and any other medical practitioner (ie anaesthetist) who treats you privately will bill you separately – This additional to The Birth Team fee.
- The anaesthetists fee- if you have an epidural- will vary according to the birth you have.
- Watford Hospital will bill you at 24-28 weeks of pregnancy for your room charges. According to the type of birth you have and how long you stay in hospital, you may get some of this back. Everyone pays the same advance charge. www.theknutsfordsuite.co.uk/charges.php. This is additional to The Birth Team fee.
- You need to allow an amount for pathology (ie blood tests, swabs and urine analysis) charges during pregnancy. We suggest around £600.This is additional to The Birth Team fee.
- The sum of these will be your total bill.
Example 1 – (The least it is likely to be):
The Birth Team fee: £6,000
Normal delivery plus 1 night in hospital: £1,300
Anaesthetists fee for epidural: £300
Routine blood tests during pregnancy approx: £360
10 hr postnatal midwifery care at home for you and your baby: £800 (£720 if booked at the time of booking appointment)
Total bill approx £8,680
Example 2 – (The most it is likely to be):
The Birth Team fee: £6,000
Caesarean section with up to 4 nights stay: £2,800
Anaesthetists fee for caesarean epidural: £500
Routine blood tests during pregnancy: £600
Postnatal private midwifery care at home: £720 if booked at time of booking appointment
Total bill approx: £9,900 (So for a first baby, adding a course of antenatal classes and private postnatal midwifery care as well, you could expect the highest total to be around £10,870.
Apart from unforeseen complications that may involve further pathology tests during pregnancy, and payments to private medical practitioners if needed (ie cardiologist, neurologist) your total minimum/maximum bill is very likely to be between these two figures.
